Who doesn't love drugstore make-up? I know I do and I am always on the hunt for new products to try as, personally, I believe the quality of highstreet beauty products is only getting better. Over the last few weeks, I have picked up a handful of drugstore make-up bits on shopping trips with my Grandparents and so thought I would show you what I got, because who doesn't love having a nosey at the new additions to people's make-up bag?
Speaking of make-up bags, my Granny recently bought me this new one, so it kind of relates to the haul as I shall be storing my new products in it. I thought I would just show you it as it totally sums up my life...
Now onto the make-up...
This may just be me, but is anyone else really unlucky with foundations? It takes you a while and a few dodgy purchases but, eventually, you find one that you absolutely love. However, when you come to repurchase it, the store either doesn't have your shade, and you're unable to wait until they get a delivery because you've run dangerously low, or the brand has discontinued it. To be honest, I probably should've learnt my lesson by now and stocked up on my favourite foundation as soon as I begin to like it, but anyway, I have been using the L'Oreal True Match Foundation for a few months now and loved the coverage and staying power it had, however, Superdrug had pretty much every shade besides my own in stock and so I had to choose another foundation. I decided to stick with L'Oreal for two reasons, one being that I have loved their other foundation so surely they were all as good? Another being so many people rave about their foundations so why not give them all a try? What's the worst that can happen?
I opted for the Infallible 24 Hour Foundation, which I have heard nothing but good things about, and, so far, I love it! I found it to be slightly higher coverage than the True Match but it still feels weightless on my skin and has amazing staying power. It blends really nicely and, so far, I have had no problems with it! Definitely would recommend.
L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base Primer
After getting to the stage where I have to now jump on my Benefit Porefessional Primer even to squeeze the tiniest amount out of the tube, I decided I needed a new primer. I adore the Benefit one and it keeps my make-up in place all day, however, I went for a drugstore option this time. Plus, L'Oreal products were on a 3 for the price of 2 offer, which obviously had to be made the most of.
I picked up the Mattifying Base which I have definitely found keeps my foundation looking matte and in place for a long time. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and a little bit really does go a long way. In my opinion, I think the Porefessional does a much better job at keeping my make-up on for longer, but this one is still great.
L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in '130 - Androdgyne'
When deciding which item I wanted for free from the L'Oreal stand, I knew I wanted a lipstick because nothing excites me more than buying a new lipstick, anyone else? I have one of their Colour Riche lipsticks already and absolutely love that so picked up another one in the shade 130. It is a rather bold colour so is perfect if you really want your lips to pop, however, it can also be blotted down, which is what I like to do. It doesn't feel drying on my lips, which is always a worry when purchasing a matte lipstick, and I love the L'Oreal lipstick packaging too!
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in '45'
Keeping with the theme of lipsticks, Rimmel lipsticks, I would probably say, are my all time favourites, particularly the Kate Moss ones, so I picked up another. Nude lips are my thing so I went for this one in the shade 45. It really is the perfect nude lipstick, one which I would definitely class as a 'Kylie Jenner Nude.' Rimmel lipsticks never feel drying on my lips, are moisturising and, even when they do start to eventually wear off, the remains don't go sticky or flaky and they wear off evenly. I would more than highly recommend them!
Max Factor Creme Puff Blusher in 'Lovely Pink'
I see a lot of people hyping up the Max Factor blushers and, after being insanely impressed with their False Lash Effect Mascara, I decided to try one out because I thought, if one product is that good, imagine what the others are like! I went for this one in the shade Lovely Pink. It is very pale and looks rather shimmery in the packaging but doesn't come out as glittery on your cheeks, although, it does leave you with a natural glow and, teamed with highlighter, gives you a lovely shine. This shade in particular, would be great for people with pale skin as it won't wash you out and looks natural. I definitely want to try more of the Max Factor blushers as I am really impressed with my first one.
Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara
I have a lot of love for Maybelline mascaras and fell head over heels as soon as I bought the first Falsies, however, this one really is on a whole new level. Its a new launch and, with Gigi Hadid being the face of it, its no surprise its amazing. The wand is sturdy with cup-shaped brissles and does everything to your lashes that you could possibly want to do with them. It lengthens, separates, volumises, all without clumping and even with just one coat you have false-looking eyelashes. The packaging is pretty much weightless but the product inside is definitely something special. If you are like me and have a slight obsession with mascaras, then I definitely think you should give this one a go! Its more than worth the hype!
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Finally, I picked up another Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I have been through countless tubes of these but I haven't found a Concealer that works as well. It's high coverage without being cakey, lasts all day (living up to its name) and, personally, I found it so easy to find my shade and it matches my skin tone like an absolute dream! If you're having a day when you don't fancy going the whole hog with a full face of foundation, simply apply a load of this and you will be good to go! It works great to cover spots and blemishes but also when concealing undereye circles and highlighting.
Let me know which drugstore beauty products you've been loving recently! <3
Love, Emily :) xx
Max Factor blushes are brilliant I have a few shades! All foundations I have actually loved have been discontinued! Its so frustrating. At the minute though I'm quite liking the Bourjois City radiance foundation and concealer :) xx

They sound amazing so I definitely want to try some more as I love this one! <3 Ah I am glad it isn't just me who has that problem with foundations haha! I have heard good things about Bourjois foundations so I'll definitely have to try one! No doubt this current one won't be in stock when I come to repurchase it so I'll be forced to try a new one anyway haha!
