Fair Squared Skincare Review (Fairtrade, Vegan, Cruelty-Free & Halal)

Fair Squared are a company who sell skin and haircare products, as well as condoms. They are Fairtrade, too, and are actually one of the first cosmetic product producers who have permission to label their products with the well known Fairtrade seal. Their products are also approved by the natural cosmetic organisation, NATURE, as well as The Vegan Society, the animal rights organisation PeTA and are HALAL certified.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try out products from such a pure, revolutionary brand who represent everything all brands in the cosmetic industry should embody.
Fair Squared are an alternative trade organisation who have fair dealings with producers in the world's poorest companies. They offer customers a high quality alternative to conventially produced products. They truly care about shaping a fairer, more eco-friendly future.

Their products all use natural and organic ingredients, are not tested on animals and are some of the only products in Europe that are Halal, which is extremely refreshing. With Fair Squared, you know exactly what you're getting. They aren't lying to you in order to boost sales and you feel good using their products as you're supporting a good cause rather than funding practises like animal testing.

The story behind the company is so heartwarming after it was started to reduce the imbalance in the world market. The brand quickly grew after demand for their products became high, resulting in them now having over 15 partners all over the world and their products being sold all over Europe.

I wanted to review three skincare products from Fair Squared to shine a light on the company, which, like other good natural brands, is overshadowed by the big names in the cosmetic industry, and to encourage you to venture out into natural skincare and support smaller brands. Putting natural, vegan, cruelty free products onto your skin not only benefits smaller companies but also you as nothing harmful is going onto your skin. Plus, it makes you feel inside good knowing you're helping the world's poorest farmers by using Fairtrade products and taking a stand against animal testing by buying cruelty-free.

Argan Facial Cream - Light
The Argan Facial Cream, (argan oil is from Morocco) is available in light, medium and rich formulas. The light one is best suited to young skin which is either slightly oily or sensitive, the medium best for normal to combination skin whilst the rich cream is designed to give moisture to aged or especially dry skin. I use this moisturiser twice a day, once in the morning and again before bed. It leaves my face feeling unbelievably hydrated and refreshed, thanks to its aloe vera, vitamin E and apricot kernel oil, (from Pakistan). It doesn't feel heavy on my face or leave it feeling greasy, plus, it acts as the perfect base to apply make-up on top of easily. I'm also a fan of the pump applicator on this product as one squirt gives me enough cream to do my whole face, meaning I won't run out quickly.

Lime Body Butter
I hate it when I apply a body butter and have to wait half a century for it to fully soak into my skin. Thankfully, this lime body butter isn't like that in the slightest and my skin absorbs it, pretty much, as soon as I apply it. I use this after a bath and find it leaves my whole body feeling smooth and fresh. This product contains Fairtade lime from Brazil which creates a beautiful citrusy scent that smells good you almost want to eat the product, (I didn't, don't worry). The tub contains a generous 150ml of product with the packing is simplistic and natural-looking. Other ingredients include Fairtrade shea butter from Burkina Faso and Fairtrade olive oil from Palestine.

Coconut Body Scrub
The coconut flakes in this body scrub gently rid the skin of dead skin cells, leaving the skin feeling smooth and healthy. Simultaneously, it helps to moisturise and has a delicate but refreshing coconut scent. I apply this to the driest parts of my body, which include my elbows and knees, and one scoop is enough to get the job done. The product has a unique texture but it doesn't feel harsh or as you're scratching off the top layer of your skin with a razor blade like some body scrubs do. It left my skin feeling soft and rejuvenated. Ingredients of this scrub include Fairtrade coconut Thailand.
